    Exceptional

Beautiful surroundings, very friendly staff, particularly good for families as children are well catered for.

It's a bit more expensive to eat from the a la carte in the restaurant, but as there were dogs in the small alcove area, I was not happy to eat here as there were children in the party. The dogs although friendly should not have been in an area were food was served on the low tables. We ate in the restaurant and although as I say more expensive, it was absolutely superb.

This motel is not a good value. I thought we were staying in a country inn hotel not a run down motel in the middle of nowhere. Poorly maintain old furniture, sofa beds and chairs. The bathroom was a disgrace and smelled like wrotten eggs or sewer gas. I reported the smell to the mgr and a man came and put bleach on the toilet and he said that will take away the smell., It didnt. I paid for a family room of six and we didnt have space to walk around the room, because the old heavy sofa beds that we couldnot put away an sit down, no space to sit an relax. The staff was not friendly. Breakfast ok but the service very slow. I will not recommend this motel. They seems to allow pets in every room and my daughter and I suffered from cats and dogs allergies, we had to get some clarityn

It was not a hotel the signed at the place stated Motel. Very dissapointed.

Really nice stay for the 2nd year running. Not cheap, but certainly worth the cost.

    Very good

The rooms need a bit of an update and the walls are very thin you could hear the conversation in the next door room very cleary and this went on until the early hours of the morning.

The staff were extrenely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was excellent value for money and the location to explore the peak district was perfect. The other advantage was that it was god friendly and we will certainly revisit.

Lovely big play area garden- safe and entertaining. Staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Useful to have lunchbox option to take out for the day. Accomodation basic and functional- good power shower. Breakfast buffet very good variety with option for cooked breakfast. Good location for Alton Towers, nice to escape to countryside inn at end of day.

Bar/ restaurant meals only fair, average and restaurant expensive for standard.

    Fabulous

We had 2 guest rooms located behind the main Inn and were able to park our car right beside them. My older sons 19/17 took one and my husband, youngest son age 9 and I took the other. Both Rooms very nice - decor a little dated in one but very clean and well presented. Great location for Alton Towers. All the Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Staffordshire Oatcakes and the Local Beer Nemesis - delicious. Quality and choice of breakfast was excellent as was the evening bar menu. Overall very good value - would certainly book again.

Not a complaint at all - just a suggestion - a little background music at breakfast would have been nice touch to welcome the early arrivals. Once more guests arrived and there was a general hubub the atmosphere was lovely but initially we found ourselves talking in whispers as it was so quiet.

    Very good

The hotel very individual and staff very pleasant it has great facilities for families with young kids

The hotel was a bit too isolated for my taste ,I like the option to walk to other pubs .

    Good

The facilities provided for children and the helpfulness of staff.

The food was poorly prepared and expensive for what it was.

    Fabulous

Excellent food, staff excellent, nice surroundings, good atmosphere, very welcoming

only one thing, we had no hot water in our bathroom, it was tepid at best. My husband looked in the cupboard where the hot water tank was and only the lower immersion heater was connected, so you couldn't have a bath, and the shower was hanging off the towel rail secured by cable ties at just above waist height so that was a no go as well. I would have to mention this if I was staying again.
